New Member Guide

Membership & Registration Fees​​

Membership Options:

SFWGA Membership (Up to 3 Staff Badges and 2 Wrist Bands) $650.00

SFWGA Membership Plus (Up to 4 Staff Badges and 4 Wrist Bands) $750.00

SFWGA Membership Prime ( Up to 5 Staff Badges and 5 Wrist Bands) $850.00​​

Groups regularly participating with SFWGA are required to pay an annual membership fee. SFWGA members are able to attend an unlimited number of events during the competitive season, including SFWGA Championships. Your membership fee entitles you to receive copies of our scoring systems, handbooks, policies & procedures and more. It also entitles you to submit rule proposals and vote in general membership meetings.

 Extended Pay Option: A member may pay the annual membership fee in three installments of $225.00 each, due on December 1st, January 1st, and February 1st. If each installment is received by the due date, the membership will be considered active with all rights and privileges.  NOTE: Units paying the membership fee in installments will pay a total of $675.00. â€‹â€‹

Completed Membership forms with all required signatures are due on December 1st. A late fee of $50 may be assessed for any forms, Membership dues, or Registration Fee payments turned in after the due date.

​Non-Member Option:

Single-Entry Fee (5 Wrist Bands) $200.00 for regular season contests, $250.00 for Championships

Groups wishing to participate in events as a non-member organization may do so at the per-event rate. Non-member groups will have access to SFWGA scoring systems, handbooks, policies & procedures and more. Non-member organizations are ineligible to submit rule proposals or vote in general membership meetings. Non-Members wishing to enter the Championship Finals contest must meet the same season performance requirements as member units.

There are two parts to the registration process: Group Registration and Event/Show Selection. To register for the upcoming season, please follow these instructions. Should you have any questions along the way, please contact adriana@sfwga.org for assistance.

Group Registration

  1.                               to begin the registration process. You can start your account here.

  2. Search for your group in the "Find Existing Group" box under "General Membership". If the group is a new group, check the "New Group" field and provide a classification and name for the group.

  3. Provide contact information for the Group Director responsible for the group on a day-to-day basis.

  4. Scholastic Groups Only: Provide contact information for the Band Director or officially credentialed school official responsible for the group.

  5. If you're registering multiple groups under the same organization, click "Add Additional Group" and repeat steps 2-4. Otherwise click "Complete Membership". NOTE: these groups must be hosted under the same program.

  6. Select whether you'd like to purchase a PLUS Pass and click the corresponding button.

  7. Complete the "Bill To" information for your invoice or credit card payment. If using a credit card, this information must match the address on file for the card, or payment will be declined.

  8. Click "Save Payment Information". If you selected to pay by invoice, it will be sent to the email address provided.

Event Registration

Event Registration opens on November 1st  at 12:00 PM. In order to access the event registration, you must have already submitted membership registration for each group. Additionally, all registration fees and outstanding balances must be paid in full.

If you chose to pay by credit card, CompetitionSuite will automatically grant you access. If you paid by invoice, your payment must be manually noted by the SFWGA Treasurer. Additionally, if your group is new to SFWGA this year, an administrator must have approved it.

To register for events, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to CompetitionSuite by 

  2. Select the group you'd like to work with from the main menu on the left.

  3. Click "Registration" at the top.

  4. Click "Register" next to the events you'd like that group to attend.

  5. When finished, click "Finish Registration". Note that you must complete this process for each group.
